You are on your basic ultrasound rotation, and do a FAST on a woman who is found to have ARF and possibly new ascites (Sweet!– a “positive” study!). You start at the RUQ and get the following image…
Wait a minute, that was a really tough one to get… something’s amiss… You move on to the LUQ
are sure to include the inferior pole of the…spleen…?
and then the bladder…
Sure there is free fluid… but boy, that spleen looked… duct-y…?
You take a look at the patient’s CXR and EKG
And then double check yourself to make sure today is not “opposite day”… 🙂
